First pageant in Idaho!

The Miss Boise pageant under the Miss Idaho Scholarship Organization

One of my first act as a volunteer at Boise State University was being a backstage assistant for the Miss Boise pageant in 2011.  This was where it all started for me, not only was I volunteering my time but I also did it to see what the pageant was like to help prepare me for the next Miss Boise.

Prior to volunteering I was looking for other ways to help myself with getting scholarship money.  Being from such a small place there are not a lot of scholarship opportunities so I started to create my own.  That's when I joined the Miss Boise 2012 Scholarship pageant this February.

Miss Idaho 2011 Genevieve and I after the pageant. She is such a inspiration!

The Miss Boise pageant is a qualifier for the Miss Idaho pageant under the Miss America system.  So to become a contestant for the state level you must win a local title first.  The great thing about this organization is that even if you don't win the local title you may still win some scholarship money from the smaller awards like best in swimsuit, etc.

My experience for  competing in my first pageant in Idaho was incredible!  I have met so many amazing girls in this pageant.  Even though I didn't win the title I walked away with 2 awards that included scholarship money and great new friendships! :)
